Married Francis (Frank) Oliphant (her cousin) on 4 May 1852. Became a reviewer for Blackwood’s Edinburgh Magazine in 1852 and contributed serial novels to the publication. Biographer for Edward Irving (1862), Richard Brinsley Sheridan (1883), and Queen Victoria (1890), among others. Friends with David Macbeth Moir and George Wilson. Biographical information: ODNB.
