Author information from Chambers’s Journal ledger entry for The Swallow’s Return and Garibaldi’s Hymn (published on 31 March 1860), which lists the author as Miss Matilda Plumley, 2 Boro’ Rd, Brighton (NLS 341/310). In addition, the Temple Bar ledger gives Miss Plumley as the author of To Coeur Volage. Thinking of You: A Moore-ish Ballad (June 1872) (BL ADD MS 46564 f. 47). Plumley also published a prose contribution, In Search of a Tea-Cup, in Temple Bar (September 1872); she is listed in Wellesley as Miss M. F. A. Plumley. Author of Days and Nights in the East (1845).
