Lake and Waterfall.
The steep and rugged cliffs,1
The lake, the dark wood sighing,2
Like deep reflection seem,3
Profound and calmly lying.4
And there, with thundering roar,5
Between the rocks wild gushing6
Like to the hardy act,7
The waterfall is rushing.8
Thou shouldst, like yonder lake,9
Reflecting, stay—deep thinking,10
Then boldly, like the stream, 11
Rush on to act—unshrinking.12
