Figure descriptions
Two daffodils are set against a lightly shaded background and contained within a double-ruled
oval border. The border’s
interior line is thicker than the exterior line. This oval is then contained within
a wide, lightly shaded, rectangular border,
which features a prominent, double-ruled interlace decoration. The illustration title,
“DAFFODILS”, is centered below the oval on an
irregular, rectangular plate, which attaches to the interlace pattern at both sides.
The exterior of the rectangular border features
two distinct frames. The interior frame features a pattern of lightly shaded, interlocking
circles contained within two sets of
