Figure descriptions
A crowd of men and boys gather around the coffin of William Herbert, Earl of Pembroke.
The coffin is covered with a cloth.
Many of the men are knights in full armour; some of them hold shields or swords. A
man kneels on both sides of the coffin. In the
background, a monk holds his hands together and leads the men in prayer. The other
figures close their eyes and bow their heads. The
room is dimly lit but the coffin is illuminated. 3/4-page illustration contained within
a single-ruled border.
