From Theocritus. Idyll the First

Figure descriptions
Two men gather outdoors. One man sits and the other stands. They look at one another. The sitting man gestures towards the standing man with an open palm, suggesting that they are mid-conversation. Both men hold shepherd’s crooks. The standing man also holds a pan flute. A second musical instrument (an aulos) lies on the ground next to his foot. The men both have beards. The sitting man wears a head scarf and a fur draped over his upper body. The standing man wears a gathered hat; he is shirtless, but he has cloths and fur draped over his lower body. There are goats and trees on a hill in the background. In the distance, there is a building and a body of water. 3/4-page illustration contained within a single-ruled border.
