Mary Duclaux.Sister of the writer Frances Mabel Robinson. Her family were well connected to London literary and artistic circles. Close friends with Vernon Lee. Married James Darmesteter in August 1888, and moved permanently to France, holding a regular salon in Paris. After Darmesteter’s death she married Pierre Emile Duclaux in 1901. Co-founded the Prix Femina award in 1904. Poetry volumes include A Handful of Honeysuckle (1878), The New Arcadia (1884), An Italian Garden, A Book of Songs (1886).
