Philosopher, poet, and political advisor. Dates: c. 4 BC - c. 65 AD. Sometimes known as Seneca the Younger (Lucius Annaeus Seneca). Born at Corduba but moved to Rome at an early age. Banished to Corsica in 41 C.E. for alleged adultery and remained in exile until 49. Returned and became political advisor following Nero’s accession.
