A.Born c. 1822. Sister of Louisa Catherine Shore. Educated at home in Bedfordshire. Moved to Madeira Island, Portugal, with her family as an adolescent because of her sister’s health, but returned to England after one year. Active in the suffragette cause. Translated French and Italian literature. Lived with her sister in Buckinghamshire and jointly published volumes of poetry: War Lyrics (1855), Gemma of the Isles (1859), Fra Dolcino, and Other Poems (1870), Elegies and Memorials (1890), Poems by A. and L.
