Laighton. Born in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Educated at home and at the Mount Washington Female Seminary. Married Levi Lincoln Thaxter in 1851. Travelled around Europe for 6 months from 1880-1881. Contributed to Atlantic Monthly, the Century, Harper’s, the Independent, Our Young Folks, St. Nicholas, and Youth’s Companion.
