Poet. Daughter of Cornwell Baron-Wilson and Margaret Harries. Friend of George Augustus Sala. Contributed to Household Words. Governess in St. Petersburg, Russia (1850-1854 and 1856-1858). Lived in British Columbia, Canada (1862-1871); she initially had a stationary shop in Victoria, then moved to the Cariboo where she married Samuel B. Tompkins, and finally kept a saloon in Barkerville. By 1875 she was living in California. After Tompkins died she married James Austin Hopkins. Author of Lyrics for Leisure Hours (1842) and Boudoir Lyrics (1844).
