Arthur.Born to Scottish parents in Northern Ireland, moving to Glasgow with his family in 1845. Member of the Glasgow Ballad Club, and became the president in 1904. Contributed to the Glasgow Citizen and Glasgow Weekly Herald. Publications include The Dawsons of Glenara (1877), Chronicles of Glenbuckie (1890), Kilmallie (1891). Biographical information:
