and “PANSIES.”, are let in to
separate rectangular spaces at the center-right of the page. “SNOWDROPS” occupies
the upper rectangle and “PANSIES” occupies the
lower rectangle. In the bottom third of the illustration, large pansies emerge from
a decorated circular opening. Snowdrops ascend
the page from behind the pansies. The flowers cluster around their associated poems
and break the rectangles’ borders. The snowdrops
also grow into a small space between the two rectangles. There is a circular shadow
behind the snowdrops in the top two-thirds of
