At our birth, the satirical elves1
Two sacks from our shoulders suspend :2
The one holds the faults of ourselves ;3
The other, the faults of our friend :4
The first we wear under our clothes5
Out of sight, out of mind, at the back ;6
The last is so under our nose,7
We know every scrap in the sack.8
