Figure descriptions
A man lies on a bed. He is topless, but the lower half of his body is covered by a
blanket. His back is arched so dramatically
that his head cannot be seen. A light shines down from the top of the illustration,
illuminating the man’s upper body. A second man
leans over the bed, kneeling on a wooden stool. His back is turned to the viewer.
He wears a laurel crown and has a large piece of
fabric draped over his body. The room contains an organ, a skeleton, a musical instrument,
a book, and papers. 1/2-page illustration
contained within a single-ruled border.
