P.for Keepsake contributions. Lived with her aunt, Marguerite Gardiner, Countess of Blessington, in London (from 1839) and then in Paris (from 1849), who introduced her to many leading writers. After her aunt’s death in 1849 she continued to reside in Paris and lived by her writing. Regular annual contributor, and also edited The Keepsake (1851-1857). Wrote a memoir of Blessington. From 1853 she was the Paris correspondent for The London Illustrated News. Wrote Virginia’s Hand (1860), which was influenced by Elizabeth Barrett Browning’s Aurora Leigh (1857).
