M. Betham Edwards.Daughter of Edward Edwards, a farmer. Lived in Germany, Vienna, and Paris from 1862-1863. Moved to London after the death of her sister in 1865, where she joined a circle of writers that included Henry James, Frederic Harrison, Clement Shorter, and others.
