A New Year Fantasy

Figure descriptions
A woman cradles a lamb under one arm and stands next to a body of water. She holds one hand up to her mouth and looks across the water toward a man who is fishing on the opposite bank. The man leans against the trunk of a tree. A boy lies on the grass behind the tree and rests his shoulder against the trunk. More trees line the water’s edge. A wooden fence and additional trees can be seen in the distance. The trees and the boy are reflected in the calm, clear water. Full-page illustration contained within a single-ruled border.
Facsimile of Graham R. Tomson’s signature. 1/32 page.
The sun is centered in a partial square border. Its beams extend outward from the center, reaching the left, top, and right edges of the square border. Vines wrap around the border and descend past the left side. The illustrated initial word from the poem, “The”, is hand-drawn and superimposed over the sun and vines. 1/32 page.
