The Angels

Figure descriptions
Five children gather at the top-center of the illustration. There is an angel on either side of the children; these angels each embrace a child. The hand-drawn poem title and byline are placed below the children within a dark circle. Leafy branches grow between the first and second words of the poem title. An angel flies on either side of this dark circle; these two angels turn their backs to the viewer, face the children, and lift their arms straight above their heads. They ascend from two fruit trees on either side of the poem. The hand-drawn poem text is placed below the title and byline and between the two trees. Grass grows below the poem text along the bottom edge. Full-page illustration contained within a single-ruled border.
Angels fly single file against the night sky. They extend their arms in front of them and fly into the distance, getting visibly smaller as they fly further away. The sky is filled with clouds, stars, and the first-quarter moon. There are mountains, trees, and a river below the angels. 1/2-page illustration contained within a circular double-ruled border.
