Three Evenings and One Afternoon, Etc.

Figure descriptions
Illustrated page is divided into six sections, all of which are contained by a thin wooden border entwined with floral vines. The poem text is let into three illustrated sheets with folded corners; they are positioned in the top-left, center-right, and bottom-left sections of the page. In the top-right corner, to the right of the poem’s first section of text, a man and a woman embrace while looking out at a body of water. A tree stands beside the water. There are mountains in the distance. This illustrated section is partially contained within a border of enlarged flowers. In the center-left, to the left of the poem’s second section of text, a veiled woman sits in front of an open book. She places her left hand on the book and brings her right finger to her lips, as if deep in thought. The woman wears jewellery and a flower at her bosom. This illustrated section is partially contained within a border of enlarged flowers. In the bottom-right corner, to the left of the poem’s third section of text, a floral wreath hangs on a cross-shaped gravestone. The gravestone reads, “In Memoriam”. This illustrated section is also partially contained within a border of enlarged flowers. The floral borders from the second and third illustrated sections join at the center.
