Hern Castle

Figure descriptions
A woman and a man ride on a saddled horse outside of a castle. The woman sits behind the man and looks up at him while resting her chin on his shoulder. She wraps her arms around his torso. A boy stands behind the horse; he appears to be shocked by the couple on horseback. The decorated initial letter “H” from the first word of the poem, “Hern,” appears at the top of the illustration. It is superimposed over a climbing vine, which extends to the right and above the first stanza of the poem. 2/3 page.
