Figure descriptions
Rectangular headpiece features a nude female creature at its centre. She has a human
head and torso, but wings in place of
arms. Vines extend horizontally from her hips, forming an elaborate vegetal pattern.
There are beasts intertwined with the vines on
both sides, and cherubs who attack the beasts at both extremities. One cherub brandishes
a spear and the other brandishes a sword.
Illustration is contained by a triple-ruled border; the outer portion contains stylized
swirls. 1/16 page.
A vegetal pattern forms a diamond shape. A beast’s head is positioned near the top
point of the diamond. Two cherubs hold the
head from either side. There are fleurons and foliates at the diamond’s horizontal
