Figure descriptions
The poem title, “FEBRUARY”, is formed from multiple thick branches. Small twigs and
leaves intertwine with the letters. There
are dense bushes in front of and behind the title. A fox ducks into a burrow to the
left of the title. There is a hunting party in
the background. Multiple men ride horseback alongside a pack of dogs. The men appear
to be holding guns. Further in the distance,
multiple men walk alongside horses. There are trees scattered throughout the illustration.
Small branches form a partial figurative
border around the bottom-right corner of the illustration. 1/2-page illustration contained
within a single-ruled border.
