Founding member of the Hogarth Club (1858). Friends with George MacDonald, with whom he collaborated extensively. Book illustrations include Thomas Hughes’s Tom Brown’s School Days (1869) and Christina Rossetti’s Speaking Likenesses (1874). Biographical information: ODNB. (CC)
